Out of all the auto shows that go on during the year, the Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association (SEMA) show has to be the wildest show on the calendar. It’s a show completely filled with the maddest, most outrageous automotive creations on the planet. Last year, when I lost my SEMA virginity, I had a great experience appreciating how much the aftermarket had to offer consumers and businesses alike in the realm of automotive customization. So when I was asked to board a plane headed to Las Vegas for SEMA 2016, there was not a moment of hesitation before I agreed.
It is fitting that such a ridiculous event like SEMA would be held annually at a place so aptly named “Sin City”. The show is as much about excess as it’s surroundings are. No car, or bike for that matter, is left stock. The show was so big that the variety of cars meant that there was something that appeals to everyone’s taste. The changes could be something as minor as just a set of rims (I was blinded by all the chrome), or it could be as extreme as a completely built engine, a new suspension system, a body kit or widebody conversion (there were many), and a reupholstered interior. There were exotics, rat rods, American muscle cars, Japanese tuner cars, and many, many lifted trucks.
My favourite build of the show would have to go to professional drifter Ryan Tuerck’s Toyota GT4586. In a nutshell, it is essentially the 4.5L V8 from a Ferrari 458 Italia stuffed into the body and chassis of a Scion FR-S. I have been following the build on the Donut Media Youtube channel for sometime now, and I am astonished on the amount of custom fabrication and energy it took to complete this build. The intakes are backwards that intrude into the dashboard, the custom exhaust blows right through the corners of the front bumper, and the suspension and steering are all calibrated to be a drift monster. It was great to see the finished product at the GoPro booth.
One of the more interesting events that I attended was the world-premiere of the Vorsteiner Mclaren 570VX. Vorsteiner, a reputable aftermarket company that specializes in exotics, made a rather attractive body kit for the McLaren 570S. The upgrade includes a large carbon fibre front splitter modelled after the P1 GTR, larger carbon fibre side skirts, a massive carbon fibre rear wing, and a set of new lighter wheels. Yeah, that’s a whole lot of carbon fibre. I tried convincing Anthony, the CEO of MadWhips Inc, to get the kit on his McLaren 540C – which has the same body as the 570S – but he said that the design of his McLaren from the factory is a timeless shape that doesn’t need to be tinkered with. I think he’s wrong, he needs that Vorsteiner kit!
Another great event that I was fortunate enough to attend was the GoldRush Rally Movie Festival. This was, as the name suggests, a collection of films made by participants of the GoldRush Rally. There were four films made that illustrated the perspectives of four participating teams of the 2016 GoldRush Rally: The Gr8est. All the films were unique in their own way, but each one of them highlighted the sense of family that they felt with everyone on the rally. I had the opportunity to meet with some of the participants and had an overall great time at the festival.
SEMA 2016 was a great way to end the 2016 calendar of events for MadWhips. The crazy energy that Las Vegas instills in you and the outrageous builds at SEMA definitely has me pumped for next year. 2017 will bring even more adventures that I will be able to share with you !

Just a few weeks ago, we were given very little precious information from NextEv’s upcoming supercar. Other than the few images that were leaked and circulating around many car lovers, the vehicle has officially been revealed to the world, and in matter of fact it now has a name, NIO EP9.
Based on the results given from the Nordschleife lap, the EP9 can be considered to be one of the fastest electric cars in the world. The EP9 had a 7,05.12 lap time record around the “Ring”, which was determined to be much faster than the previous record of 7,22.329 which was accomplished by a Toyota TMG EV P002 back in 2012. In addition, the EP9 also set another record at the Paul Ricard circuit located in France in which it had a lap time of 1,52.78, which was beating the earlier electric vehicle lap records of two minutes and 40 seconds ahead. Furthermore, the design of the vehicle is a factor into its reason for breaking lap records as the aerodynamics have been enhanced to produce 24,000 newton’s of downforce at the speed of 240 km an hour.
Going more into the details about this beast, the EP9 manages a megawatt of power, or 1360 Horsepower if you wanted to be technical. It is equipped with four electric motors, four gearboxes. All of this makes it possible for the EP9 to accelerate from standstill to 60mph in 2.7 seconds and to 200 km/h in just a mere 7.1 seconds, while continuing its way to a top speed of 313 km/h. Nevertheless, the battery system for the EP9 is swappable and takes only 45 minutes for it to be charged and reach a range of 427 km.
What comes as a surprise to many is that even after learning about all the amazing specs of the EP9, NextEV hints at the possibility of applying autonomous technology to the EP9. The company stated that the “integrated e-control structure and sensor system layout could fit the latest autonomous driving technology.” Lastly, it is difficult to determine how the interior design of the vehicle will be but nonetheless many can agree on that they will have one of the best driving experiences of their lifetime.

Mazda revealed their IMSA Championship weapon for the 2017 season. Trust me it is absolutely insane in every way.
First of all, it does not just look fast, it will be really fast and built for the American Endurance Races. While we were expecting a Gibson V8 from a regular LMP2 car, Mazda shocked everybody, not just with the design but also with their new engine decision. They decided to put a 2.0L Turbocharged I-4 Cyl engine that produces 600bhp. It is an incredible amount of power out of a 2.0L engine. Mazda chose a smaller engine over a big V8 to represent the brand name more effectively and make the car more efficient.
The head designer of Mazda Ken Saward announced that KODO design they applied on this prototype enables them to make the car super efficient when it comes to aerodynamics. It also allows the company to use the usual LMP2 Riley Mk30 chassis and an amazing look at the same time.
We are all hoping to see this beast on the track in January, 2017 at Rolex 24 Race. Everyone in the racing industry is looking forward to it to see this piece of art demolishing the racetrack.

Porsche has just opened up their second Experience Center in the US and they broke the bank to make it a one of a kind lifetime experience. The $60 million, 53-acre complex is now the home of Porsche Motorsport North America’s new headquarters. It is a place that is designed to allow drivers to experience the German automaker’s sport cars up and close. To put it in simpler terms, this complex is basically a Porsche playground.
The complex consists of a four mile track, which is broken down into two circuits with a total of eight different training modules. In addition, the complex is also home to a race car exhibit and a high class restaurant for those who work up a meal after playing with a few of Porsche’s toys. Furthermore, customers have the opportunity to drive some of Porsche’s cars on different type’s tracks and conditions such as they can test the cars’ acceleration on a straightaway track, or practice driving in slippery conditions on a low friction course, and even test it on a rugged, beaten path on an off-road course. However, it is expected that not all of Porsche’s cars will be allowed to be tested on the off-road course as it seems that those would be off limits to the Macan and Cayenne.
The new Experience Center isn’t for existing customer only, but visitors are invited to come in and take a spin for a 90 minute driving session. Usually the sessions are led by an experienced Porsche instructor on the track and my guess is that this obviously wouldn’t be cheap but rather a rich and expensive experience. According to the Los Angeles Times, a session to take spin of the 718 Boxster costs $384, while prices continue to increase to $950 to drive a 911 Turbo or 911 GT3.
In conclusion, Porsche’s West Coast Experience Center shouldn’t have come as a surprise to many as it was announced to many during the 2011 LA Auto Show. The complex is only the second of its kind in the US as the first one was opened up in Atlanta, GA last year. Lastly, the German automaker has other locations all around the world in France, Germany and England and soon China as that is going to be the future home of another Porsche Experience Center.

2bhk and 3bhk luxury apartments in Bangalore are having a more welcome vibe to them these days than ever. The housing industry is expected to be in great demand in the near future and in this light, foresight savvy individuals seem to be taking over this opportune time in much delight. 2bhk and 3bhk luxury apartments in Whitefield have always been the fancy of modern families as they seem to find Whitefield and surrounding areas like Maratahalli and ITPL very convenient – Easy commute to work and school, proximity to all social amenities, excellent civic infrastructure, relatively cheaper and affordable luxury apartments, promising rate of return for investments make owning a ready to move in apartments a much sought opportunity for home buyers and investors alike.
Home Buyers apparently have these factors in mind while looking for 2/3 bhk ready to move in luxury apartments in Whitefield, Bangalore.
Convenience; There is this flagrant sense of easiness in everything we do these days, isn’t it? People just don’t just pay for the superlative design and the appeal of it all. There is always a comprehensive study while making large investments, especially as large an investment as in luxury apartments. Convenience is indeed king as people understand the irredeemable value of time. These ready tio move in luxury apartments in Whitefield offer residents here the envious convenience of reaching work and school in considerably lesser time than their counterparts living in central parts of the city. Most of the MNC’s based in Bangalore being situated in Whitefield or the neighbouring areas is definitely the game changer for residents of luxury apartments here.
Affordability: Quite apparently, there has not been a point of time when luxury apartments or any property for that matter was as feasible yet as promising as the current times. Demonetisation too seems have borne little impact on the buyers as this move has actually set up the primary market for a more promising and crowded playing field. Also, more and more realtors competing with the renowned builders has only made the market more transparent and accountable thereby instigating these builders to offer these 2bhk or 3bhk luxury apartments at competent prices.
SUMADHURA SILVER RIPPLES 2BHK 3 BHK LUXURY APARTMENTS WHITEFIELD BANGALORE HOME
Healthier Lifestyles; Not only do these renowned builders offer exquisite homes but there is an apparent shift in lifestyles too. Life inside the uber luxury homes being one thing while the larger than life social setting they offer makes life here a sort of serene spectacle in quite a contrast from the more accomodative ways of life we have come to accept in the central parts of the city. Comprehensive amenities Fitness, Wellness and extensive added luxuries like green building features, round the clock security and maintenance on call, extensive parking facilities, well planned balconies offering panoramic views of the skyline and the city among a host of other delightful luxuries in for residents of these 2bhk or 3bhk luxury apartments has made the concept of luxury living much popular. One simple search on the web should prove this point.

Owning 2bhk and 3bhk luxury apartments has always been a matter of choosing comfort over convention and convenience over tradition. All of us like absolute certainty. But do we have it? One never knows how much certainty is absolute certainty. Here’s trying to bring in a little (or a little more) certainty to the home buyer. We got your backs, yeah.
Quite evidently we are in a time of tremendous cultural transformation. And in such a mind shift we as a society could very neatly fall for popular perception. Unanswered questions are one of the most dangerous answers in all things worthy. One can write all day about what such dilemma to ask or not might do. Lets just write them off.
What is the difference between a apartment and luxury apartments?
Luxury. Absolutely and easily. Luxury apartments offer myriad amenities and added conveniences to make life here more serene and sprightly. While they are strategically located to make commute to work and school easy, being here in these luxury apartments is an experience by itself. Comprehensive sporting, wellness, fitness and social amenities in exquisite order with conventional amenities like parking, round the clock security and maintenance makes for quite a good life.
How affordable are these luxury apartments?
Much surprisingly very affordable to own. For the immense value they render over conventional apartments and independent homes, luxury apartments are actually way more affordable than most of us have perceived them. There is common wisdom to how these luxury apartments can be so affordable as suggested.
Mostly these luxury apartments are strategically located outside the central parts of the city. There are stark differences for land price and building costs – primary reason why costs are inflated in central parts of the city. While this helps in seamless commute to work and school, it also helps residents have a far more relaxed and easy wasy of life considering the woeful traffic hassles in the city. Fresher air, easier ways of life, more affordable homes with all conceivable amenities and conveniences certainly is more appealing than hasty living in crumpled spaces with limited conveniences at definitely higher costs – hope the point is clear.
Are these luxury apartments easy to own?
Paperwork for properties has always been extensive. Options to own these properties however have been way more easier than say a decade ago when there was lesser transparency in the market. As more and more builders are offering extensive luxuries in these luxury apartments at competent prices, These competent prices are seldom paid in full. Most banks have personalised offers making it convenient and easy to pay off the loan on your terms over a period of 15 to 30 years.

In 1969 it was sold for $5,400 and afterward once more, soon thereafter, for $11,000. The car changed submits 1975 when it was purchased by a Mr Steve Griswold for $13,000 who restored the car before selling it in 1978 for $125,000.
With a $56 million dollar price tag, the 250 GTO is very costly and it will take a big time buyer to secure the purchase. Let’s wait and see who this beauty goes too!
